The Center for Demographic Research strives to find new and innovative ways to extend the resources within the Auburn University system into the community.  We offer several open house events throughout the year to help current and prospective clients learn more about what the Center for Demographic Research has to offer.

Director of the Center, Dr. Yanyi Djamba, has an extensive record of publications with one edited book on sexual behavior of adolescents, many articles in peer reviewed journals, a large number of monographs and newspaper columns on population topics, and he has made nearly 50 presentations at professional meetings. He is an active member in more than 10 professional associations including American Sociological Association, Population Association of America, International Sociological Association, and International Union for the Scientific Study of Population.  Dr. Djamba has received several research grants from different sources including the World Health Organization, Population Council, Population Reference Bureau, American Sociological Association, and World Vision. His current research focuses on sexual practices, marriage, HIV/AIDS risks, domestic violence, and migration in comparative contexts.  Due to Dr. Djamba's expertise, he is frequently asked to present recently completed or ongoing research studies.
