Demographic Research Services

The Center for Demographic Research conducts a variety of social research ranging from the evaluation of social programs to survey research for private and public agencies.  Depending on the client’s needs, we will design and conduct full research or work on specific steps of the research process, including questionnaire design, selection of the study population, data collection, data entry, statistical analysis, interpretation of results and production of study reports.

Planning Development & Research Support

We collect, maintain and analyze a variety of socio-demographic data related to Alabama’s population.  We also disseminate vital information to public and private agencies for use in their strategic planning and development programs. 

Expert Consultation and Publications

The Center for Demographic Research also publishes several data sheets on Alabama’s population.  These informative sheets provide at-a-glance information on topics that include education, health and children’s conditions.  We regularly produce newspaper articles and thematic brochures that describe current and historical trend in socio-economic and demographic patterns in the state.  In  addition, we are recognized as demographic experts by local and national media and are frequently sought out by national media outlets to provide demographic expertise in expanding population trends and changes.
